A new study from the Center for Hospitality Research (CHR) at New York’s Cornell School of Hotel Administration reveals that Japanese guests are most tolerant of long delays at check-in, while US guests are the most impatient.
Japanese guests are perfectly happy to wait up to nine minutes to check in, and only become seriously disgruntled after half an hour. US guests will put up with a two-minute wait, but even a five-minute delay is deemed intolerable.
British visitors are happy to wait for up to six minutes, but their patience runs out completely after 17 minutes.
